Review
This novel really highlights a relationship in the past and how things worked back then. Cady and Doyle are very much in love, but there is still very much they dont know about each other and this novel focuses on that in a big way. It brings Historical Fiction / Romance together with a Mystery.
Emotions are very high in this story. Their love is tested and the ups and downs they go through in trying to navigate that is emotional for the reader.
The mystery aspect was very well done. This being a 3rd in a series, I kind of knew what to expect from Cady and I already had grown to understand her relationship with Doyle. I liked the fact that Joyce Proell has managed to keep these characters and their journey fresh through each novel.
Joyce grew up in the Midwest and attended college and grad school in Chicago. After working in mental
health, she retired to write full-time. Her first book, Eliza, was published in 2012. A Wicked Truth is the
third book in the Cady Delafield series. When she isn’t writing mysteries or historical romances, she
loves to swim, walk and is a crossword puzzle fanatic. She and her husband live in Florida and
Minnesota, in her very own little house on the prairie.
